Ferrous Recovery Products
Eriez’ metal recovery and sorting equipment use permanent magnets and electromagnets to sort, separate and retrieve metals in applications including municipal solid waste, comingled recyclables, shredded automobiles, electronic scrap, glass cullet, plasted (PET) and foundry sand.
Eriez PokerSort Metal Separator
Eriez’ PokerSort® extracts long, troublesome pokers like automotive leaf springs, tie rods, steering and axle components and other generally uncooperative long shapes directly from the shred before the drum magnet. As pokers exit the shredder, alignment guides on the incline conveyor position poker-type objects parallel in the flow. As pokers reach the end of the conveyor, they extend beyond the conveyor and are magnetically pulled over the PokerSort, into a chute or conveyor belt and collect in a bin or bunker.

The Suspended Electromagnet, providing tramp metal collection from conveyed materials, is a widely used magnetic separator. Eriez Shred1 Ballistic Seperators
Shred1™ uses ballistics to efficiently separate iron-rich ferrous from much of the mixed metals post-drum magnet flow. This separator delivers two distinct fractions: a premium low-copper ferrous product (in the range of 0.16-0.20% cu) and a traditional #2 shred.

Eriez Moisture Monitor
Eriez’ Moisture Monitor continuously measures the moisture content of material exiting the shredder and reports the data locally or remotelyvia the Eriez SMART web portal. In the recycling industry, the Moisture Monitor helps mill operators balance the amount of water used to prevent fires and reduce dust, while preventing excessive water usage which interferes with separation, and increases the net weight of fluff being transported to landfill.
Eriez Metal Loss Monitor
The Metal Loss Monitor continuously scans your residue stream for valuable metal that has escaped your process and is headed for landfill disposal. Positioned either upstream or downstream of the hand picking station, the MLM alerts operators when a spike in metal count has been detected and aids in diagnosing where a process breakdown may have occurred.
Eriez Splitter Monitor
Installed on separation equipment the Splitter Monitor optically scans for debris build up on the lead edge of a splitter blade. A “clogged” splitter can greatly affect metal recovery if undetected for periods of time. As material builds up, the Splitter Monitor sends warning alerts via email or text message to prompt the appropriate personnel to clean the blade. Using this smart technology reduces the frequency of random manual checks of splitters and improves metal recovery.
